Itchy Vagina and How to avoid it
The reproductive organs of the human are the ones which are least exposed to the outside environment and are therefore most prone to develop infections such as skin diseases. This sensitivity is even more in case of the female vagina as the skin covering the various parts of this organ is softer and more sensitive than other parts of the body. According to a survey almost 4 out of 10 females suffer from the problem of an itchy vagina. This condition must not be taken casually because it might be a symptom of a fungal infection or a skin eczema condition. Here are few ways which this might be caused.
Lack of Hygiene
Cleanliness of private parts of the body is very important as these are least exposed and are therefore not aerated. The vagina in particular relatively sweats more than any other part of the body. Besides it is also the opening for the discharge of the blood and other waste during the menstruation period. This is the reason why proper hygiene must be maintained around the area surrounding the vagina.
The appropriate bathing equipment
As already mentioned the skin of the vagina is extra sensitive. This extra sensitivity may be triggered by the use of a harsh soap or body shampoo. So make sure you keep a check on how the skin is reacting to the change in the showering soap. Also just like you use a healthy body lotion for the skins on other parts make sure you keep good care of the vaginal skin.
Healthy sexual habits
The vagina is also meant to be an organ of sexual activity. So make sure that your partner has not contracted any sort of an infection which may be passed on to you through the process of intercourse. Itching in the vagina is usually the first symptom to a sexually transmitted infection or disease. It is important to have an active sex life but it is more important to have a healthy one.
